And two of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131330 The motherboards I believe support phenom, and have 6 SATA onboard and are compatible with Solaris. In each case I have 6 JBOD drives, plus 2 RAID (for boot) with an Areca controller. This combo (plus memory and drives) should be under $400.
