So the main thing that you have locked down is that you won't use Sun
hardware because it is expensive and locks up, but you will bet your
business on cheap brand-X SATA hardware?
Keep in mind that usually people only post experiences if they have
encountered a problem and need help. Satisfied users rarely post
experiences.
If your storage controller is truely mission critical then you should
be using several adaptors with a careful split of redundant
components. Simple mirror configurations work great for this,
although they are expensive. Make sure that you are using a system
with ECC memory.
