What I said was that we were looking for the best storage controller possible 
for use with Solaris.  I specified neither "brand-X" nor "cheap."  

If you equate "not Sun" to "cheap" or "brand-X" then your input is duly noted, 
but in my opinion other vendors of quality equipment do exist. 

I also did not say that Sun hardware locks up.  But virtually every SAS/SATA 
adapter on the HCL has people who've said terrible things about it, such as the 
example I provided, which is what I was referring to.

I did keep that in mind.  It is, in fact, exactly why I asked.
