Anything going to ram is going to be faster.

Latency of DDR memory is probably at most 100ns vs .5ms for a SSD.  Problem
is if you need full-sync nfs, you bound by the latency of the non-volatile
path.

Even a 32kB packet over 10GbE will take 0.025ms.
