Hi folks -- I have an m5000 running solaris 10 update 7 - with mpxio on SAN - I have SVM soft partitions configured on top of the mpxio device names :
d100 -p <mpxiodevicename1s0> 250g d101 -p <mpxiodevicename2s0> 300g what I have found recently much to my total surprise was the following: when i metacleared d100 after umounting the corresponding FS - and removed the lun for mpxiodevicename1 from SAN - the mpxiodevicename2 changed to mpxiodevicename1 - which was totally unexpected - and as a result d101 collapsed the Filesystem It has been documented in several places that mpxio maintains device name persistence obviously that's not the case here has anyone seen something like this before - is there a known fix ? thankfully, --Balu -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
