I am trying to get Comstar up and running and am having problems
with my HBA. I purchased this HBA without looking at the OpenSolaris
HCL first, and it's not on the list. However, other factors are
making me wonder if this adapter just won't work in OpenSolaris or
if something else is going on.
First, this is admittedly anecdotal but a post in this thread:

from the lead engineer of the emlxs driver states that the driver
"will support all of the Emulex HBAs." It's certainly possible that
the poster simply meant to say "all Emulex HBAs on the HCL" but I
wasn't sure.
The PCI ID of my HBA (pci10df,f0a5) is in /etc/driver_aliases. I
also found a reference to it in a SUNWemlxs/postinstall file here: http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/onnv/onnv-gate/usr/src/pkgdefs/SUNWemlxs/postinstall
The problems manifest themselves as follows: If I run "mdb -k"
followed by "::devbindings -q emlxs" I get: "ffffff01471c8010
pci10df,f0a5 (driver not attached)"
In review of the following section, which steps did not complete
successfully. The procedure for switching an HBA from FC initiator to
FC target mode, is error prone, and a little problematic if steps are
not carried out in exact order.

Can anyone tell me if this is because the driver doesn't support
this card, or if there's another problem? Since the PCI ID is in /
etc/driver_aliases I suspect the latter, but I don't know what else
it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
