Well no ones seems interested in this, but i thought i would add that last night the network died again and I have decided to get the dp43tf, it looks like a very good consumer grade cheap board for a file server, Intel nic, ich ahci, lots of pci/pcie for the cheap silicon controller cards.
I have one worry though, is it worth me spending up on something to do ECC, the server is just for storing my movies really and any other stuff that takes up alot of space, the important stuff is backed up on 3 different pc's, laptop/desktop/server.
