I only needed 1-2 extra ports for the time being, as single drive ZFS to act as backups drives. So far only have 1 x Samsung 1.5TB installed on this controller and so far appears to be working fine. I don't need any hot swap at the moment.
All I need to do now is resolve the SATA timeouts I am getting from the motherboard so I can actually backup the data on my raidz....but reads are just not working.. another story which I am about to post about (and already have in another thread).
