hmm. we did a firmware update on the card as well to the latest available on the site. It didnt make a difference.
We suspect its the Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB disks with firmware CCH1. We have seen them in other systems reverting to 500GB disks (totally odd) - no firmware upgrade available on the disks. Seatools (Seagates utility tests fine but gives a warning on some of the disks that their firmware needs an upgrade) - but none available on their website. We have hauled all Seagate 1.5TB disks out and replaced with Western Digital Green 2TB ones, it now works fine. So, we think there is data corruption on the Seagates, caused by the disk presenting as 500GB disks, ZFS kernel panics and core dumps because of the inconsistency. Interestingly, the box booted 100% if we just unplugged the 1.5TB drives. OS booted fine and worked. We tried to reimport the 1.5TB disks and it core dumped immediately. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list storage-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
