I am using Solaris 10 U9 (apologies for using opensolaris list, but i
am in a bind)

Solaris 10U9
ZFS root
EMC Symmetrix DMX4 disks

When I try to enable mpxio with stmsboot -e or editing
/kernel/drv/fp.conf, mpxio does not kick-in after reboot, and mpathadm
list lu does not show anything... What could be the cause?

I see the following in
/etc/svc/volatile/system-device-mpxio-upgrade:default.log :

[ Dec 28 16:05:12 Enabled. ]
[ Dec 28 16:05:17 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/mpxio-upgrade") ]
stmsboot: Root is on ZFS
stmsboot: configuring devices

stmsboot: vfstab has been updated
stmsboot: dump on ZFS, no dumpadm update required
/lib/svc/method/mpxio-upgrade: : not found
stmsboot: bootpath has been updated

stmsboot: now regenerating boot archive
updating /platform/i86pc/boot_archive
[ Dec 28 16:05:35 Method "start" exited with status 0 ]
[ Dec 28 16:05:35 Stopping because service disabled. ]
[ Dec 28 16:05:35 Executing stop method (null) ]

Also it creates all these files in /etc/mpxio dir:
ootenv.rc.enable.2010_12_28_16_00 mpt.conf.enable.2010_12_28_16_00
    svccfg_recover
devid_path.cache
mpt_sas.conf.enable.2010_12_28_16_00 vfstab.enable.2010_12_28_16_00
fp.conf.enable.2010_12_28_16_00 recover_instructions

Any ideas?
