I solved this I had to add these lines to /kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf

device-type-scsi-options-list = "EMC     SYMMETRIX", "symmetric-option";
symmetric-option = 0x1000000;

I thought that we did not have to do this anymore in recent releases...
