This is just not supported by vmware. Check the storage compatibility on the
vmware site. If you have any problem you're on your own.
For my part I had something similar but with legacy iscsi, not comstar, and I
ran into serious issues. Now I use EMC SAN.
Check the list and you'll find some cheap NAS supported hardware.
