Hi,

I'm a newbie to Linux and just installed Storm Linux 2000
on my Compaq Armada 1550 DMT notebook. It has 32MB RAM, 1.5GB HDD,
33.6 PCI modem, Cirrus CL-GD7548 1MB video and ESS sound card.

After the initial install everything seemed to be working fine except
my sound card (which still doesn't work). I could only run X Windows
on 640x480 8-bit mode. So I ran xf86config and things went terribly wrong.
I cannot get my display to function correctly and my mouse is acting crazy.
I used all possible mouse configurations given in the list, but the only
one that seems to move my mouse at all is the PS/2. But even this choice
makes the mouse act erratically.

Can anyone please suggest a way to configure my mouse, display and sound
card correctly? I realize that Linux doesn't support laptops very well
'YET'
but some suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.
