Then in XF86Config's Pointer section, use /dev/gpmdata, protocol
BusMouse.

As for your display, I have a 1 Mb cl-gd7543, and I had to use
Accelerated X.  However, I haven't yet tried the latest XFree86 on it.

Actually, I've found it does, but some hardware simply isn't good
enough for it.  A 1 Mb video card is just barely capable of it.
