[SLU] Simple problem after recompilling the kernel

Well, the VGA screen shows, but the messages display below the window. What
option do I select to at least have the boot messages appear in the correct
place? I'm going to use the standard 2.2.14 kernel sources instead, but I'd
still like to know how to correct this problem.
