I need to set a new video driver that will give me better screen resolution.
My trusty 15" monitor that does WinDoze at 800x600 needs to go higher res to
1024x768 or 1280x1024 for Storm.
I checked out xfconfig the other night, and was intimidated by it needing to
be completely redone to a fairly high level of detail. My concern is that if
I don't nail my exact config, I may get more changes than I care for, or a
non-bootable system.
And yes, I am playing around with the 3dfx Voodoo3 driver, but have yet to
install it.
Now is there a good way to update my video config without reconfiguring the
whole banana (or penguin)?
Now being a newbie, I feel like a schmuck asking questions like this. I
have read the Idiot's guide v2, and have Linux Unleashed v1 as a reference
to command line details. Are there some other tomes that would be handy to
me?
Rob
