Did you create a boot disk during the install process? If so, use it to boot
up. If not, get a copy of tom's root boot disk <http://www.toms.net/rb> and
use it to boot your system.
Once there, edit /etc/Lilo.conf and add the entry "Linear" (no quotes) near
the top of the file. Save the file and run "lilo -v" command line. Try
booting again. that should fix your problem.
This problem occurs with some Hard Drive controllers.
