2.2.17 is in alan's directory on www.kernel.org, I think.
people/alan or something.
If I was you, I'd wait for 2.2.17 to come out. It is due out
real soon now and has quite a number of stability fixes.
2.4 is quite nice, I'm running one of the 2.4pre kernels at home
and it is very stable.
