You'll need to install a kernel-source package (and the packages that
the kernel-source relies on), then
ln -s /usr/src/kernel-source<whatever> /usr/src/linux
then proceed as you had been. Mail the list if you hit any snags. The
kernel-source<whatever> install will take awhile.
