Hi,
please also refer to my message about the initrd ram disk failing
(about system specs etc).
On my system (my friend's worked), graphical installation failed, I
got on the console:
--
(--) VGA16: PCI: ATI Mach 64 Rage Pro LT blabla
(--) " chipset: generic
(--) " videoram: 256k (using 256k)
(--) " clocks: 28,32 28,32 28,32 10,62
(--) " maximum allowed dot clock: 90.00 Mhz
(--) " There is no defined dot-clock matching mode "640x480"
Fatal server error: No valid modes found.
Yeah, I know my digital LCD is not common; if you need clock lines
from an old Xfree 3.3.6 config file, I'd be glad to provide them.
It's not so important though, I can manage w/o graphical install on
my own system. I just thought I'd let you know.
CU, Yours Malte #8-)
BTW: afterwards, it detects the Mach64 chip fine and X works, just
not when attempting to switch to Graphical installation mode.
