I recently installed Hail-2.0.6. I then did apt-get to get
task-x-window-system-core and x-window-system from sid to get the XFree86
4.0.2 on my machine. However I have a few problems.
1) I have only 1280x1024 and 1024x768 defined for screen ize in XFree86-4,
but I suspect that my desktop is in 640x480. How do I check for this?
Assuming it is 640x480, what else could set it to this size? I have checked
and there is no 640x480 size in the XFree86-4 config file.
2) My X login prompt only allows forthe selection of username and password,
not xmanager too. How do I set it up to select a different display manager
for different users? (i.e. my girlfriend likes KDE and I like gnome)
3) I have an NVIDIA card and want to to use the NVIDIA GL drivers. However,
the stormix 2.2.16 kernel does not have agpgart support for my VIA or
irongate chipsets. Should I try to patch 2.2.16 or get another kernel? I
know 2.4.0 will not work, the NVIDIA drivers will not compile to them.
