I have recently bought my Storm Linux Hail release set, and tried to install it. I
got all the way through to the point where it was installing the packages, and then I
received "error unpacking" on every one of them.
To make matters worse I tried another Debian based distribution...this at least gave
me some more insight. I got segmentation faults when dpkg was run.
I recently upgraded my CPU from a Pentium 75 to a Celeron 500.
I have a VIA based sound card (detected by Storm), a S3 based graphics card (also
detected), 64 meg of SDRAM, and 2-6 Gig hard drives (Western digital is hda with
Windows 95, and Maxtor is hdb where I was trying to install Storm).
I have tried different configurations of the hard drives (one is an ATA66, and the
other is an ATA33) including setting the Maxtor to the #2 IDE cable as a master with
the CD rom as a slave.
Nothing seems to work.
I have been able to install Linux-Mandrake 7.0 without any problems.
Anyone have any ideas?
Sorry if you get a wide message...this e-mail has no preferences to set word wrap.
Thank you in advance,
Chris
