I would suggest 2 thigs:
1.Disable ATA66 in BIOS and see waht that gives.
if that doesn't work then
2.Disconnect the first HDD,move the CDROM on the primary
controller-disable ATA66 in BIOS ,leave the Maxtor as master on the
secondary IDE controller and see if this works.
if it does then it's simply a matter of movcing the CROM back as slave
on 5h3 2nd IDE(with the MAxtor as master),plug back the WD ,modify lilo
to install on mbr
of hda and rerun lilo.
If it doesn't....
