I imagine that trying to view XF86Config-4 using vi is a good lesson for a
newbie like me who was spoiled rotten with kde (reminds me of the days of
edlin on another OS) Anyway, I've compared XF86Config-4 with the old
XF86Config
They are similar, although the old one has a section called mode timings
that has a bunch of lines called modeline with numbers that follow. The new
one does not. Could this be a problem?
If so, how do I cut and paste blocks of text with vi? Shouldn't this have
been done automatically with xf86config?

Also, both files still point to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/
although I now have a /etc/X11/fonts/ directory as well. Should I change
this? The newer one has fewer fonts installed, but the fonts in both have
the same date. A couple of the older ones are larger though.

Help!Help!

Thanks for the help, ahead of time. No Debian pessimism here
