Libranet's config tools are just command line tools done through a terminal
box in X-windows.

It has some nice things but doesn't automatically set up scsi adapters or
CD-R/W drives. They have a semi-automatic kernel recompile routine that
allows those things to be added fairly painlessly - but you have to know what
you're about. (Their FAQs provide good guidance for doing the most common
tasks.)

The standard kernel is the 2.4 series, more advanced that Progeny's standard
2.2.19 and their KDE is 2.1 rather than Progeny's 2.0. But I have found
their printing support somewhat weaker than Storm and much weaker than
Progeny.

All-in-all, though, it is an advance on Storm and in balance quite similar to
Progeny, which has weaknesses as well (Progeny's installer can be cranky if
you are trying to install in non-standard locations - and their Grub never
installed for me so the system was bootable - had to use another boot loader
to get Progeny going).
