It's the other way round. The invention is a grate insert to convert a prior 
art sawdust stove into a coal/wood burning stove, when no sawdust is available.

  So it is a retro-fit sawdust converter for coal stoves! That is very 
interesting.

   

  Cecil Cook is always advocating the insertion of tubes into fuel to get air 
to places that won't breathe properly. Perhaps there are clever ways to use a 
combination of the insert and tubes to overcome the mismatch between the power 
cycle of a centre-started sawdust stove and the normal cooking heat demand.

   

  I have lots of shavings but not much dust to try.
