About the speakers:

Courtenay Engelke is a Director in the Investment and Risk Management Division 
of the Office of the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). 
Previously, Ms. Engelke served as the Director of Implementation for Compact 
programs in Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America where she managed, advised 
on, and supported the implementation of Compact programs. Ms. Engelke holds an 
MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as degrees from Johns Hopkins 
University and Lehigh University.

Dr. Henrik Wallman is a distinguished scientist, academic coordinator and 
lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley specializing in chemical and 
biomolecular engineering. Dr. Wallman currently serves as chief scientist on 
the implementation team for the Millennium Challenge Corporation cookstove 
program in Mongolia. Dr. Wallman is a Staff Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley 
National Laboratory and an Adjunct Professor at the Chalmers University of 
Technology in Göteborg, Sweden. Dr. Wallman has a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering 
from the University of California, Berkeley.

present initial progress on the Energy and Environment Project in Ulaanbaatar, 
Mongolia. Through support for energy efficiency, the project was designed to 
improve air quality in the capital city by providing consumer subsidies to 
facilitate adoption of cleaner appliances and monitor appliance performance in 
the field.
