Dear Friends

There is a valuable paper on the chemical composition of wood chips and
pellets just hit the press at http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ef300884k
written by Sriraam Chandrasekaran, Philip Hopke and friends at Clarkson U.

I am particularly interested in seeing this information base expended
because I use the elemental composition in the determination of the
stoichiometric air demand calculation for the heterogeneous test protocol.
The value is used to determine the actual excess air level, including the
oxygen in the fuel as one of the sources of O2.

Obtaining this information can be difficult and in worst cases, it has to be
estimated from known species.

The ash which is often used for fertiliser is affected by the composition of
the raw fuel so char and fertilizer people will also be interested (it is
discussed).

Regards

Crispin
