Crispin From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Tuong DoDuc Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2012 11:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Stoves] Chemical composition of wood chips and Wood Pellets Dear Crispin and Stovers, Adding up to the link that Crispin shared, I would also like to add more details on the chemical composition of wood chips/pellets. One page PDF is extracted from my thesis on a gasifier stove using rice straw pellet. Please find it in the link:http://www.mediafire.com/?mjb59n9jssmhm18 Origin of the table: [49] Oliver Pastre. Analysis of the technical obstacles related to the production and utilisation of fuel pellets made from agricultural residues. Technical report, EUBIA, 2002. I am particularly interested in seeing this information base expended because I use the elemental composition in the determination of the stoichiometric air demand calculation for the heterogeneous test protocol. The value is used to determine the actual excess air level, including the oxygen in the fuel as one of the sources of O2. Obtaining this information can be difficult and in worst cases, it has to be estimated from known species. The ash which is often used for fertiliser is affected by the composition of the raw fuel so char and fertilizer people will also be interested (it is discussed). Regards Crispin
