Dear Char Producers
What is your opinion of this definition of a 'char making appliance'? Char Making Appliance Any appliance that derives heat largely from the pyrolysis of biomass in a manner designed to produce, as a result of such combustion, a carbonaceous byproduct high in carbon, useful as a fuel or as a 'biochar' and where such product contains not less than 15% of the carbon in the original fuel. If you have a suggestion for an alternative % of carbon, or wish to propose a mass-based metric, please provide a supporting case. Thanks Crispin
