Dear Chain grate enthusiasts

I had a look at the burned in question at Alex's place and he showed me a
barrel of powdery ash and also some char he can produce at will. He has a 500
ton stash - or did before winter - of bashed up wood fuel. Basically shards and
splinters from a giant hammermill.

Pretty interesting. However the really interesting device was the very small
burner that used the same crappy fuel to heat water in a pond. It is a
condensing heat exchanger and has spectacularly low CO.

I am glad to hear the BLDD is getting some attention again. There is a new BLDD
stove for cooking and space heating coming out of the University of
Johannesburg and week now.
