Please Introduce Yourself What's your connection to St. Paul public schools? mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________ Hi folks....
I'm Rob Fulton from Highland Park. For work, I'm director of the Saint Paul - Ramsey County Department of Public Health. I've had four children in the St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS). Three of those children had special needs. The "choice" element was so foreign to us when we moved here from the east coast, but now it is what makes this such a rich educational community. I've done volunteer work in three elementary schools that my kids attended-Adams, Expo, and Capitol Hill. I also served as co-chair of the Highland Park Junior High site council for two years. My oldest son, now a freshman in college, decided to do his high school at SPA. You get what you pay for! My middle son has just transferred to Community of Peace Academy to get him away from some bad choices he made in his peers from Highland High. Tomorrow, my 6th grader, is moving to Higher Ground Academy which will be an important new step from the very high academic demands of Capitol Hill. I have been very impressed with both of the charter schools my kids are going to. The commitment of the leadership to the charter schools concept is inspiring. Compared to my east coast experiences, we have such a rich educational experience in MN and St. Paul. _____________________________________________ NEW ADDRESS FOR LIST: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/ _____________________________________________ For state and national discussions see: http://e-democracy.org/discuss.html For external forums, see: http://e-democracy.org/mninteract
