To put it in Chuck Repkes' words "OK I'll bite".

The problem with Arnellia's isn't the jazz or the chicken wings or the soul
food. The problem is the type of music played on Thursday nights that attracts
riff-raff from across the twin cities. Hip hop in itself is not the culprit,
but in those large crowds of youth that attend the hip hop nights there are a
few unsavory characters. You may ask why Arnellia's continues with hip hop
nights since two people have died on those nights? Simple, its the money. Hip
hop brings in the demographic that spends lots of money on drinks in the bar.
Its how they afford the security and the cameras.

About three weeks earlier, I saw a postcard flyer regarding hip hop at
Arnellia's on the east side Perkins. I thought this could be trouble and it was.
Lucy's has had the same problem with their music selection.

Does anyone see culpability on Arnellia's part for letting an underage person
into their bar that lead to a homocide. If security had done their job,
Coleman wouldn't have been in the bar to get kicked out, pissed off and come back
gun blazing and that poor guy sitting at the end of the bar wouldn't be dead.
The city needs to close Arnellia's down or a big fat civil suit should. The
last time someone died it involved an altercation in the bar and the young man
was run over in University Ave by the parking lot. Because it didn't happen
in the bar or on the property we could only close them for a short period of
time.

The police presence isn't the problem. There are plenty of cops in the area
doing jumpouts and john stings. Heck there was a cop in the bar, metal
detectors and security and that didn't stop the 20 year old from shooting the place
up and killing an innocent man. As far as being comfortable in the area, I
like the White Castle, the chinese buffet, Franks and the hobby shop and don't
feel uncomfortable there but I can understand why Renee is uncomfortable.
