Index of SPPS Budget Discussion http://www.e-democracy.org/stpaul/spps-posts.html _________________________________________ Dear all -- As this formal forum conversation winds down, I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for engaging so thoughtfully in this dialogue. I didn't post much last week because it seemed more important to listen to what the rest of you were (and are) thinking. And listen I did. It was especially gratifying to hear from some of you quieter ones out there; I hope that you'll continue to weigh in when the spirit moves you. Do know that your insights went much farther than this forum: I passed them on to a number of site council members, parents, and staff in schools, various members of the superintendency, and to some of the Board members unable to participate last week. We take your thoughts and comments very seriously, and all appeciate your willingness to contribute. As time goes on, we will continue to welcome SPPS families and community members to forums on various topics; to attend our Committee of the Board or regular School Board meetings (see http://www.spps.org/board_of_education/board_info.html for the schedule); at plays, concerts, family activities, and athletic events at our schools; as part of districtwide advisory groups; on site based decision making councils; or as volunteers to read with youngsters, mentor teens, or talk with students about the world beyond K-12 education. Thanks so very much to all of who already to this, and for any of you interested in getting involved, go to http://www.spps.org/programs_services/Volunteer_Opportunities.html. For discussion of SPPS issues beyond this forum, feel free to contact any Board members directly; see my contact info below and find others at www.spps.org under Board of Education. You may also email [EMAIL PROTECTED] and your message will be sent to all of us. Thanks again so very much to all of you, and special thanks to moderator Tim Erickson for keeping the conversation moving along constructively. As always, I really appreciate everyone's input. -- Anne Carroll, St. Paul School Board ___________________________________________ Anne R.
