I do not agree that the court decision applies to any billboards other than the three on west seventh and those can be repaired only if they have not been damaged more than 51% of their replacement value. My memory is that those sign structures received significant damage contrary to the court ruling. Brian Bates, macgrove

We have just received a Court of Appeals ruling that says that the 3 billboards damaged in the wind storm of 1997 can be repaired. As I understand it, this means that the billboards on top of the Highland shopping center will go back up.
The Highland Park Special Sign District has been in place for about 25 years and it called for all billboards to be gone at least 15 years ago. Now we will be getting them back. Bunk.
Hopefully some of the legal minds among us can help explain the ruling.
