I will be asking everyone to bring a temporary end to the "same-sex marriage" discussion (until at least next Wednesday), INCLUDING discussion of the city council resolution.

I will send "official" warnings to anyone who continues this discussion in our forum between now and Wednesday. Given that the issue is on hold at the capital and the city council has tabled the resolution until April 7th, I see no reason why this topic can't wait a few days.

I will enforce this moratorium on the discussion of "same-sex marriage" for several reasons, one of which is that I will be out of town for 3 days and unable to moderate or even monitor the discussion.

I will reevaluate this decision on Wednesday of next week and possibly bring the moratorium to an end, in particular if the city council resolution is still on the table.

It is my hope, that over the next two or three months we will be able to come up with better strategies for managing our discussions, but for now I am limited to the tools that are available to me - which means, bringing this discussion to a temporary halt.

Participants of this forum have demonstrated that I cannot simply request that people restrict their comments to the city council resolution and the broader discussion about "gay-marriage" is simply no longer appropriate in our forum.

I appreciate your patience and support.

Happy discussions,
