As we ask for your financial support, let me remind participants of some of our successes over the last year.
--------------------------------------------------
Over the last several months, I've been told my many list members, elected officials, and city staff - that they have seen real improvements in the overall quality and tone of the discussion in the St. Paul Issues Forum.
We've increased the size of the forum from about 300 to just over 360 participants. Between Jan 1, 2003 and Feb. 31 2004 over 170 different individuals posted at least one message each in our forum.
Organizationally, over the last year, we've accomplished the following goals (among others):
1) Hosted a very successful discussion about the St. Paul
school districts proposed budget. 2) Became a key source of election information during
the recent city council and school board elections. 3) Moved the St. Paul Issues Forum from Yahoogroups to our
new listserve software, Mailman. 4) Made initial contacts with several city councilors and
quite a few district council organizers to encourage
their participation in the forum. 5) Established a steering committee charged with forming
a "local" chapter of E-Democracy in St. Paul. 6) Created a new flyer that can be used to promote the
St. Paul Issues Forum (not yet printed). 7) Increased the overall "visibility" of the St. Paul
Issues Forum. There is much work left to be done. Thanks for your support.
Best wishes,
