Interested participants need to register by Friday, April 16, 2004. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather that day.
Workshop Topics:

A walking audit of the Como Ave./Front St./Dale St. intersection - also know as the Great Northern Corridor will be conducted to help participants understand and identify walking obstacles and to suggest potential short-term and long-term solutions.
Peter Moe and Deb Spicer from the National Center for Bicycling and Walking will lead the workshop. The workshop will focus on how to improve pedestrian mobility and ensure pedestrian safety through smart design considerations, necessary community educational initiatives, effective enforcement techniques, and ways to motivate and encourage walking. Workshop Audience:

The Walkable Communities Workshop is open to anyone interested in making Saint Paul a more pedestrian friendly place. Elected officials and residents throughout the city are encouraged to participate. City of Saint Paul and Ramsey County staff are encouraged to participate -especially those involved with the design of pedestrian facilities, deal with pedestrian issues, or manage projects that need to accommodate pedestrian movement. Health, law enforcement, and educational professionals will also find this to be an interesting and useful workshop. Additional Information:
