You need to raise at least $2000 to print up fliers and have some paid
research done on this person's background. Find out anything they were
convicted of, or divorces, things like that. Also get the voting record
and look for either flip-flips or something that can be made to look
insane.
Then, bombard all your neighbors with broad smears about this person's
character and all the awful things they did. You're job isn't complete
until their reputation is so bad the County is looking into taking their
kids away.
No, seriously:
Look at the issues coming up, and see if there's something you'd really
like to be a part of. If you can see something you really want to do, go
for it. If not, well, you can do your "duty" some other time if you want.
You have to really love it, or it'll suck. So look into that first.
