Do You Have Any Questions About St. Paul
Government or Politics? Please Post Them Here.
--------------------------------------------------
The recent tradgedies of the teenage deaths in the caves embodied within St.
Paul has obviously prompted much thinking on how to proactively keep this from
ever recurring.
Watching the news, both my wife and I had similar, but supporting of each
other, views. Mayor Kelly made the observation on the neccesity of "education",
but it appeared to be directed toward bringing that to schools, etc.
To us that appeared to be quite stop-gap as each year grades change,
immigaration of students changes, etc. The erection of barriers would be very cost
prohibitive, and to that age group, a challange.
Please consider a program that would immediately ask for donations, not to a
particular agency, or such, but to set up the ability to post signs in the
appropriate areas. This would be the continuing "education" Mayor Kelly spoke
of. Obvious messages would be the gas effects, and so forth
They sould be in the form of memorials to those whose lives have been
forfieted, but so worded to also contain the various warning messages.
What a tribute this could be to the City of St. Paul, it surrounding area,
and Minnnesota. We live outside the City of St.. Paul, but stilll appreciate
the value of such a public service to a great city.
