On channel four tonight one comment was that signage often brings additional 
interest from kids in trying to get into the caves.

As a kid growing up on the West Side, it was a summer ritual for us to go 
into the caves.  Every year the city would try to fill them in with either junk, 
or they would try to block off the entrance.  It doesn't work.  There are/were 
a lot of kids who want/wanted to party in the caves and the walls are all 
soft sandstone.  Whack away on the side of the wall enough and you make a small 
hole, grab a pry bar and down come the bricks.  It worked that way 35 years ago 
when I was fifteen, I have no doubt it still works today.
