SARPA filed a lawsuit in Ramsey County District Court charging the City of Saint Paul with failing to follow the law in determining the impact of a proposed expansion of the University of St. Thomas (UST) campus on its surrounding neighborhood. The suit asks the court to compel the City to require an Environmental Impact Statement for the project as the law requires.
You can get more info on SARPA, the lawsuit and the Summit Avenue Treasures Auction coming up this week at http://www.sarpa.org .

SARPA is the group that just sued the City, or is it the University of St. Thomas, over St. Thomas' proposed expansion on Summit Avenue.

("SARPA")Summit Avenue Residential Preservation Association
The name pretty much describers the purpose of SARPA,
but I'm curious about what kinds of activities that SARPA does.
Are they primarily an "awareness" organization or are
they directly involved in "preservation" projects?
I'm only asking, because there are some many different
organizations in our city working on so many different civic
projects, that its hard to keep up with them. When I hear about one that
I'm not familiar with, I just have to ask....
Thanks,
