On The Motherland, drivers park their cars in the lot, walk over to a
machine, put as much money into the machine as needed for the time they
want to park, the machine prints out a sticker with the Start and End times
on it, then the driver goes back to the car, sticks it on the inside of the
windscreen, and Bob's yer uncle!
How many SmartCards for the meters, I mean metres, have been sold, I
wonder...

FYI - I thought that was a great system to. However, I've noticed
that many places that used to use that system have now implemented
some form of parking meter or another.
