What I found interesting in the story and the aftermath was the fact
that only two incidents were reported plus a basket full of empties.
Ironically both involved DFL members. So. Is this wide spread and
an issue that needs to be addressed? If so, where are pictures of
other members. Where are the Republican representatives in the
story? If this is an issue is KMSP saying only DFLers were doing
this? Or were their offices off limits to the purported camera
person? Was this a biased report?

I know one fact. The story mis-represented the statutes on state
employee drinking. One thing I don't know from the story is how
does that non-drinking law apply to legislators.

The story also alleged liquor purchases from lobbyists, which is
illegal. Did it happen? Maybe. But the story, as reported, seemed
to imply illegal behavior without any proof.

I'm sure that everyone has heard about the party that
some DFL Senators were hosting in their offices at the
Capital during the last session.

Nothing too surprising about the parties in general,
but the comments of one drunken DFLer suggest that the
Progressive Protection League had better fly on over
there pronto:

"Rep. Scott Wasiluk, DFL-Maplewood issued a statement
to the station [KSTP] saying: "I sincerely apologize
for my recent behavior."

"If the public feels additional laws should be passed
to improve public confidence in the work of
legislators, I would vote for it."

A cry for PPL action if ever I heard one!

If we want our DFL Senators to behave like adults, we
have to pass a law to guide them, so: "Let's ban
drunken DFL Senators at the Capitol Dave!"

And while were at it, maybe we had better ban smack,
coke, weed and every other recreational drug while
were at it; no use in leaving loopholes.
