I say, let 'im gag!

I'm delighted to report and admit that I sit here in my old cardigan and
wallow in those words, socialist and socialism. That's the ilk I am. Love
being an ilk. I feel social, and I would far rather be social than capital.

In fact, socialism is a really fine description of the finest governance
systems throughout the world - far better than the despotism of the United
States - but that's another story for another list.

Don't y'all just love the way the Swifts of the world spit those words,
"socialist" and "liberal" through their clenched teeth? I do love it. Let's
keep it up. Maybe their teeth will crack and gag 'em.

What gets me is the delusion that throwing around such terms they consider
derogatory somehow touches the issue one iota. They never do, and Mr. Swift
has little more to draw on, apparently, than those nasty "swear words" he
finds so facile to describe us socialists.

In any event, sticking it to Big _______ never gets it, because it's
impossible to stick it to them - them being corporations who suck us dry of
our capacity to live safely and securely. Tobacco - big or small - has
sucked millions of their capacity to live, and now are using their customers
- bars and restaurants - to keep the sucking alive and well in St. Paul and
other cities trying to protect the public health - and that, Mr. Swift , IS
the job of government. That says nothing about whose responsibility it is to
do so. We are government. We have a duty to protect ourselves and our
brothers and sisters. You don't want that protection? Go suck up the smoke
somewhere. Want to disown the family? Leave.

Doesn't this guy make a great target for satire? Man!
