If you recall, I was one of the few who were willing to give the Mayor some latitude to make good on his promise to work for a regional solution because it would clearly benefit more people and remove the bugaboo for bar and restaurant owners of losing customers to neighboring establishments.
I still think Mayor Kelly is being rather foolish if he thinks this issue will dry up in a month so he can sweep it under the rug. This sounds like Councilperson Montgomery is lighting a match under Kelly for the duration of this 30-day override period so that his promise to work for a regional solution better show some real results in 30 days. I think that's a fair period for results to appear given the interest in this issue on both sides of the river, and "brava" to Debbie Montgomery for seeing to it that Mayor Kelly isn't just blowing smoke.
