I would like to see the statistics used by Mr Tester on the giving amount of Dems vs Reps.

General philosophical or philanthropic attitudes of Republicans vs. Democrats is off-scope or off-topic for this list. Please, drop this topic.

Tom Thompson did an excellent job of bringing the discussion back on-topic, by listing a set of specific St. Paul examples, we need to stick with those.

He suggested:

  1) Downsizing public works and putting more contracts
     out to private bidding.

  2) Privatizing snow plowing.

  3) Elimination of Human Rights Department.

  4) Downsizing and streamlining "licenses and permits."

Any comments (on these proposals)?
