St. Paul Issues Forum - Extra ----------------------------------
The subject of billboards and Scenic Minnesota have been in the forum in recent days. To provide some context and history for this discussion, I've worked with Brian Bates to provide background.
As a special supplement to your daily dose of the St. Paul Issues Forum, today we will provide you with a fairly detailed history of the Billboard issue in St. Paul - as described by one person who was very active in this issue.
The following two posts were edited and excerpted from an article that Brian wrote in April 2002 (and recently updated), called:
LEANING ON THE COW
The Story of Saint Paul Minnesota's Struggle
to Preserve its Scenic Character and Beauty
from the Urban Blight of BillboardsContact Brian for a copy of the original article (about 3 times as long).
