I have to admit, I was extremely skeptical about the city restriping Ford Parkway, basically from Sumner (Hillcrest Rec Center) to Snelling, I thought, like John B. predicts about 7th, that the heavy trucks / trailers from the Ford Plant would slow traffic to a halt.

I would say that the Ford Parkway restriping has been successful. When it came time for the public testimony on Ayd Mill, I testified in favor of the four lane connection, but that Lexington should be part of the test, and restriped like Fairview and Ford Parkway. The Mayor had that done and I think that has worked pretty well too.

So, I guess the restriping is not, "silly", I don't think its a conspiracy to further develop the transit corridor, although it makes sense, because Fort Road is a transit corridor.

Give it time, I guess you could say I flip / flopped on my opinion about this restriping.

I (really) live a block off Snelling, it carries a lot of traffic, a lot of fast moving traffic, and probably to much traffic to restripe. Enforcement of speeding cars is evident near Macalester College, but non-existent near the down slopes (both ways) between Juno and Highland Parkway - I'd put Snelling, in this area, up against West 7th anyday for higher average speeds.

In closing...

Regarding 35E and Trucks... oh boy, here we go again.
