I live on Lexington Parkway at St. Clair and am greatly appreciative of the 'dieting' done on Lexington. I was on my phone about once a month calling for police and ambulance (some for cars into my front lawn, and at least one for fatalities) before the restriping but since then have not called once. The major cause there were the left turns (Lexington is going up in both directions and line of sight was bad)

Earlier Public Works had indicated a maximum AADT (annual average daily traffic) of 14,500 was needed before doing any dieting (reducing number of lanes). I suspect they did it with a higher number on Lexington (2002 count between St. Clair and Grand was 17,660) to show some additional successes due to the Ayd Mill Road connections.

I've included some numbers to satisfy some curiosity below. If you want some additional information you can call Public Works or email me - I have the 2004 published numbers for most of the City.
